About
Jagdish Devnath
Product Designer focused on AI-powered enterprise software - turning complex data into calm, obvious interfaces.
Story
Design as a way of making sense of the world.
I grew up curious about how things work - not just the mechanics, but the reasoning behind decisions. That curiosity pulled me toward design: a discipline that sits at the intersection of logic, empathy, and craft.
My path started in physical product design - consumer products, medical devices - before moving into enterprise software. That grounding in form, constraints, and manufacturability still shapes how I approach digital products: design isn’t decoration; it’s infrastructure.
Today I lead product design across AI-powered workflows at Windward, a maritime intelligence platform helping government agencies and commercial organizations in over 60 countries turn complex operational data into actionable decisions.

Principles
What I believe about good design.
- Calm over clever
- The best interface is the one users don't notice. Complexity should live in the system, not on the screen.
- Context is everything
- A feature that makes sense in isolation can create friction in a real workflow. I design systems, not screens.
- Precision as craft
- Spacing, weight, contrast - these aren't aesthetic preferences. They're the difference between information and noise.
- Ship to learn
- Research reveals what people say. Shipped product reveals what they do. Both are necessary.
- Slow down to speed up
- The right question at the start saves months of iteration. I invest in framing before I invest in solutions.
- Collaboration is design
- The best outcomes come from bringing engineers and PMs into the design process early, not presenting to them late.
Experience
Where I’ve done the work.
